Since 1986, when Lyme Disease became reportable in New York State, there have been more than 73,000 cases documented statewide. Over the past five years there has been a steady increase in the number of cases reported in the Capital Region.
This 90 minute presentation by Mark VanDeusen, a health educator with the New York State Health Department’s Bureau of Communicable Disease Control, will provide detailed information on ticks, Lyme disease, and steps we all can take to reduce our chances of exposure to ticks. The key to reducing cases of Lyme disease and staying healthy is prevention!
